NNU Cleanup and Restoration

The 2008 fire that took out part of the Johnson Sports Center at NNU disrupted classes and sports schedules.
After the arson blaze was put out, ServiceMaster of Boise was immediately called in to assess and repair the damage. "A project this size takes a lot of man power to turn this around in a quick fashion," ServiceMaster of Boise owner Colby Peters said.
The two-alarm fire on Sunday, March 2nd, 2008, took fire and rescue workers long hours to completely extinguish, but the damage from fire, smoke, and water was a giant project in itself. And with upcoming events at the center, a challenging deadline was set for the restoration.
Fire sprinklers caused the most damage to the building. They put out more than 100-thousand gallons of water to douse the flames. The fire was fueled by rubber field turf. "When those get going, if anyone has seen a tire fire it generates a huge amount of smoke and a huge amount of heat," Nampa Deputy Fire Chief Doug Strosnider said.
When ServiceMaster arrived on the scene most of the field house section of the building was covered in three inches of water, walls were covered in black soot, and the smell of smoke permeated every corner of the facility. Not only did the damage need to be stopped and repaired, but many areas required extensive rennovations. ServiceMaster took charge of the operation, directing the major cleanup, and coordinating the needed subcontractors.
Important upcoming events mandated that the restoration project be completed within the week. Our technicians worked diligently over the coming days to meet the stiff deadline and completed repairs ahead of schedule.
When people think of ServiceMaster, often the first thing that comes to mind is carpet cleaning. But even though we earn our living cleaning carpets and restoring rooms, homes and buildings to new, we also have the staff, equipment, and expertise to provide large-loss remediation.
